In July 2017 JICA has started implementation of Project for Market-Oriented Milk Production in Chuy Province.

The Project objective is to increase the production of raw milk of a high quality which complied with the requirements of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) market and increase the export potential of dairy products. In the frame of the Project, farmers will improve their milking techniques, milk collectors will improve conditions for raw milk transportation and a mechanism of purchasing milk depending on its quality will be worked out. Apart from that it is expected that the Project will introduce the milk production system that will serve as a model for milk producers throughout Kyrgyzstan.

The Project will be implemented together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin, State Inspectorate on Veterinary and Phytosanitary Security under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and Milk Union.
