Felt balls in Rehabilitation center "Ornok"

One of Ex-JICA volunteers, Ms. Makiko Nakagawa had worked with children with disabilities as a physiotherapist in rehabilitation center "Ornok" which is located in Karakol city. She worked for 2 years and was trying to improve not only health condition of children with disabilities in the center but also find solution improve living conditions of children. With support of program "Smile for all in the world" Ms. Nakagawa brought special stool for children to improve their ability to seat.

Ms. Nakagawa and Ms. Fukuda who worked in OVOP project, who was also JICA volunteer, collaborated together to support family with children with disabilities by introducing income generating project of producing felt balls and then selling them as souvenirs. Recently mothers of children with disabilities has finished registration of their center in OVOP project and started selling their products at the shops. This felt ball production will allow children's ability developed, to foster their social involvement, and also raise the public recognize their possibility.

Even Ms. Makiko Nakagawa and Ms. Fukuda left country 2 months ago, the children continue producing felt balls and sold in OVOP shop.
