On February 2, 2018, signing ceremony of the Minutes of the Discussion on the results of the preparatory survey was held within the framework of the grant project "Scholarship for the Development of Human Resources" (JDS).
The signing took place between Director of the State Personnel Service (SPS) Mr. Madumarov Akram and the head of the preparatory survey mission Mr. Eiichiro Cho (Director General, Financial Cooperation Implementation Department, JICA HQ).
An important arrangement was to increase the number of quotas for a scholarship to Japan up to 20 seats. The total number of scholarship holders of the JDS program from 2019 year on Master's program will be 18 people and for the first time a doctor's program (PhD) for 2 people will be introduced.
To implement the project, the most promising and gifted young state and municipal employees will be identified and who will be able to work professionally in the important and priority areas required by the country after training.
- Mr. Eiichiro Cho noted that out of all 13 countries of the project, Kyrgyzstan is the most successful country. He noted that taking into account this circumstance, JICA increased the number of places on master's programs, and also introduced a doctoral program.
* The Government of Japan has been implementing the JDS Program in the framework of grant assistance in the Kyrgyz Republic since 2006. Currently, 176 state and municipal employees have been dispatched from Kyrgyzstan to Japan under the JDS Program.
