In order to implement "One Village One Product" (OVOP) approach in the regions of the country, on 9th and 14th of February 2018 in Osh and Naryn cities meeting of stakeholders on OVOP Platform establishment in the regions was held. Stakeholders were representatives of the government authorities, business communities, various sectors and JICA OVOP Project.
The mission of the OVOP Platform is strategy making and implementation of activities related to OVOP. At the same time, the Platform will combine the function of the Evaluation Committee and hold brand selection meetings regularly to award a trademark to local products. Members of the Platform evaluate prospective products in accordance with criteria, such as made from local regional resources, environmentally friendly with no chemicals, uniqueness and originality of the product.
The Platform participants will include representatives of various sectors and organizations, such as local authorities, sanitary and epidemiological centers, Gosstandart, business, tourism, academic sector, etc.
Participants of the meeting expressed their readiness to cooperate in the development of regions through utilizing OVOP approach for local industry promotion.
*The third phase of the OVOP project has started in 2017, during which the OVOP Issyk-Kul model is planned to be disseminated to other regions of the country.
