JICA is enhancing the capacity of forest users to grow fruits in regions.

The JICA Forest Project in March and April 2018 organized regional trainings on "use of biological products" in the targeted FEs (Forestry Enterprise) of Chui, Talas and Issyk-Kul oblasts. The purpose of the training was to enhance the capacity of forest users to grow fruits, with learned methods of combating diseases and pests. The training took place with the participation of trainer from the Kyrgyzagrobio Center under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration of the KR.

The participants were acquainted with the basics and peculiarities of use of the biological method and biological remedies in the cultivation of fruits, such as apples and apricots. They learned how to distinguish useful insects (entomophages) from pests and how to prepare fertilizers (kampos) from waste for the garden. They also learned about the use of two biologics like biolignin and trichodermine, for growing fruits, vegetables and wheat that can be purchased at an affordable price in Kyrgyzstan. Participants showed big interest and active participation in the training.

Participants shared: "We have received a lot of useful information in this training and would like to express our gratitude to the JICA Project for organizing it.
