Information brochures with a map of hazardous areas developed by JICA Road Disaster Prevention Project.

The Road Disaster Prevention Project developed a brochure with a map of hazardous areas along the Bishkek-Osh road. With the financial support of UNDP, 180,000 copies of the brochures were printed.

Together with the Road Management Department of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, brochures with a map of hazardous areas were distributed among road users and the population living along the Bishkek-Osh road at Sosnovka Tollgate and Karakul Tollgate, at roadside cafes and shops. Lectures were conducted in 4 schools of Toktogul and Karakul districts of Jalalabad region and more than 60 000 brochures were distributed.

In addition to presenting the brochure, Mr. Chingiz Nogoibaev, head of Life Safety Department of the Center for Training and Retraining of Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, conducted extensive lectures that affect not only natural disasters on the roads, but also road accidents, child suicides, alcoholism and drug addiction.
