Start of JDS new phase

On the 23rd of August 2018, in the Ministry of finance of the Kyrgyz Republic were held the signing ceremony of Exchange of Notes and Grant Agreement in the frame of the "Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)". The sum of grant aid from the Government of Japan to Kyrgyzstan was up to 308 million Japanese yen (more than 2, 7 million USD).

The Government of Japan, particularly JICA pays big attention to human resource development and has assurance that the role of Human Resources in country development is enormous. Therefore JICA keeps on implementing and increasing cooperation in Human Resources Development sphere in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In this sense, the new phase of JDS project distinguishes by providing opportunities for obtaining not only Master degree but also PhD degree. Additionally one of changes is increased number of accepted finalists from 15 to 20 people (18 for Master degree and 2 for PhD).

*For reference: JDS project in the Kyrgyz Republic started implementation from 2006 and current number of dispatched people to Japan achieved 191 people.
