Workshop for fruits cluster development.

The Forestry Products project implemented by JICA and SAEPF organized a two-day workshop to discuss issues and solutions for promotion of fruits and berries production business and development of fruit business cluster among fruits growers, forest users, local authorities and other various stakeholders from the private and public sector.

Within 2 days workshop, participants got insight from presentations on various critical subjects that include: practice of dwarf apple production business, apricot production practice, control of pest and disease particularly "fire bright"; and potential of sea buckthorn production business. Participants also had a field visit to the experimental fruits nursery plots supported by the project and intensive orchards managed by private enterprises.

Head of Unit of the Department of Forest Ecosystem Development Mr. Aliyev M. expressed special gratitude to the project team for organizing a high-level workshop and demonstrating modern technologies on intensive orchards.
