Signing Ceremony for JICA Partnership Program "Water Supply Control and NRW (Non-Revenue Water) Management Technology Training and Capacity Building Project" in Malaysia on 4th July 2017

A JICA Partnership Program entitled Water Supply Control and NRW (Non-Revenue Water) Management Technology Training and Capacity Building Project" is planned to be implemented for 3 years from August 2017 to March 2020.

This program is aimed towards development of a sustainable Water Supply Control and Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Management system using SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) through capacity building including training in Japan. It is cooperation between JICA and the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) Malaysia through collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's TSS Tokyo Water Co., Ltd (TSS). Target location is the Federal Territory of Labuan as the pilot.

TSS is expected to share their experience in water management and contribute towards making Labuan Water Supply Division the NRW reduction modeling in Malaysia. It is a future objective that NRW reduction strategy obtained from this cooperation will be useful and its utilization can be expanded to other states in Malaysia in the future.
