Handing Over Ceremony for "The Japanese Grant Aid Project on Rural Water Supply Project in Central Dry Zone (Phase II)"

On 13 July, 2018 (Friday), the "Handpver ceremony for the Japanese Grant Aid Project for Rural Water Supply Project in Central Dry Zone (Phase II)" was conducted at the project office in Nyaung U

Dr. Khin Zaw, Permanent Secretary, U Khant Zaw, Director General of Department of Rural Development under Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MOALI), and Mr. Kazuyuki TAKIMI , Councilor from Embassy of Japan, Mr. Masayuki KARASAWA , Chief Representative from JICA Myanmar Office attended the ceremony.

The purpose of the project is to improve of equipment and materials for deep well construction and strengthening of DRD's water quality analysis capacity so as to provide stable and safe water there by contributing to betterment of socio-economic life of rural population in the Central Dry Zone.

With this purpose, JICA extended a grant up to one billion two hundred and forty-two million Japanese Yen (JPY 1,242,000,000) and Truck-mounted Drilling Rig, Air-lift Equipment, Pumping Test Equipment, Sand removing equipment, Cargo truck with 5 ton Crane, Logging equipment, Equipment and Materials for Pumping Facility Construction, Borehole Construction Materials and Tools, Spare Parts were provided to develop more than 100 deep wells in the Central Dry Zone.
