Signing of the Grant Agreement on "The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)"

On 5 July 2019 (Friday), the Grant Agreement (GA) for "The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship(JDS) (former Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship)," was successfully concluded between Department of Education Research, Planning and Training, Ministry of Education and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Myanmar Office.

The Project is aim to supports human resource development by providing young leaders from Myanmar with full scholarships for graduate degrees in Japanese Universities. The Project, providing up to six hundred and twelve million Japanese Yen (JPY 612,000,000), intends to offer academic opportunities for government officials and private sector professionals to study two years Master's or Doctor's Degree Courses in Japan.

From the beginning of JDS scholarship in Myanmar from 2002 until last year, 501 Myanmar young and highly capable government officials and private sector participants have been dispatched to Japan under this program. In addition, 43 officials will dispatch to Japan for this year in 2019. From this program, there are the chances to study expert knowledge for policy making and institutional building for the country's development as well as systems in the world-leading technological country, to build human network in and out of Japan and to study Japanese culture. Moreover, when the JDS fellows return to their organization, they can effectively contribute to the mission of organization and development of country.
