Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) successfully concluded a two weeks course on Safe Motherhood from 14th to 26th January, 2008 at the Mother and Child Health Center (MCHC) in PIMS, Islamabad. The Training course aimed to impart knowledge and skills to 5 teams of health personnel selected from districts of three provinces, federal capital, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan, in order to create "Safe Motherhood Districts" in each province and capital territory.
