NAB appreciates JICA for partnering in anti-corruption drive

Islamabad, August 2, 2016: Ms. Aliya Rashid, Director General Awareness & Prevention of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), along with her team called on to Mr. Yasuhiro Tojo, Chief Representative JICA Pakistan office on August 2, 2016 at JICA Pakistan Office in Islamabad. Availing of this opportunity, Ms Aliya Rashid conveyed her gratitude for the support provided by JICA for the printing of coloring books containing anti-corruption messages to be used in schools as part of NAB's ongoing awareness raising outreach prorgramme. The launching/distribution ceremony of coloring books would take place on 11th August, 2016 at 1100 hrs at NAB HQ, Islamabad.

The presentation from Ms Rashid highlighted the achievements secured through the ongoing "Say No to Corruption", campaign, which has resulted in increased awareness among public offices, national heroes, children, teachers, women & men. Consequently, various key official documents have become the "message bearers", of this campaign. The message is visibly posted on new CNICs, driving license, electricity bills, displaced etc.; it reads through the cinema screens before the movie is played on; a special postal stamp with the slogan has also been issued. The campaign has also been endorsed by various national heroes such as Cricket & Hockey players & children who are living in Orphanages. An anticorruption song was also introduced on the occasion.

Mr Tojo, JICA Chief Representative in Pakistan, thanked Ms Rashid for sharing the details of her campaign & appreciated her efforts. Recognizing the importance of early childhood learning, Mr Tojo, also appreciated NAB for engaging children in this important initiative. The meeting concluded with Mr Tojo's acceptance to the request for attending the upcoming coloring books launching/distribution ceremony and a group photo with "Say No to Corruption" paly cards in support of the campaign.
