220 kV Grid Station has been Inaugurated in Gujrat

Gujrat, October 25, 2017: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been contributing in development of power sector through Japanese ODA loan, grant aid and technical cooperation projects. 220 kV Gujrat grid station is one of the sub projects constructed under the scope of "National Transmission Lines and Grid Stations Strengthening Project", a loan project.

The inauguration ceremony of the said Project was held on 25th October and Federal State Minister for Ministry of Energy Mr. Abid Sher Ali, as the chief guest who cut the inauguration ribbon and chaired the ceremony. In addition to the chief guest, the mayor of Gujrat, several officials of NTDCL and other stakeholders attended the ceremony.

Apart from the loan project, JICA has been implementing to establish a training center for engineers who are engaged in grid system operations by grant aid project and planning to support the formulation of national power grid development plan by technical cooperation project.

JICA will continue to strive hard to improve the situation of energy sector in Pakistan by maximizing our cooperation through synergetic effect of Japanese ODA facilities.
