TEVTA Presenting memento to JICA at Career Day and Handing Over Ceremony
Faisalabad, April 26, 2018: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) held "Career Day and Equipment Handing over Ceremony of The Project for Strengthening DAE in Mechanical Technology at Government Colleges of Technology in Punjab Province". The ceremony was held at a local Hotel in Faisalabad.
JICA has handed over state-of-the-art machinery and equipment to TEVTA to enhance the capacity of Government College of Technology Faisalabad. The provided equipment includes the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, which have Vertical Machining Center 3-Axis and Turning Center 2-Axis Capacity for satisfying the needs of industry.
At the ceremony, the career day event was also launched in the same place. Around 40 companies set own booths for career consultations and job matching program with Government College of Technology(GCT)'s students and alumni. It was the first ever career day event in GCT Faisalabad, and enthusiastically received around 250 visitors.
TEVTA, GCT Railway Road (RR), and JICA jointly implemented the Project for Development of Center of Excellence (CoE) for Technical Education from December 2008 to December 2013. As a result of this past project, GCT RR has successfully gained its capacity as a CoE in Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) Mechanical Technology as well as Architectural engineering.
After the completion of this technical cooperation project, it is anticipated that the institutional and technical capacities of GCT Faisalabad will also be heightened to perform as a CoE in Mechanical Technology in Punjab Province.
