Clarification for an article on JICA's Student Centered and Inquiry Based Science Education (SCIB) project published in media

Islamabad April 12, 2012: In recent days, some media reports on JICA's Student Centered and Inquiry Based Science Education (SCIB) project have appeared and needs clarification.

The reports have misquoted one of our representatives Ms. Noriko Hara, Project Formulation Advisor saying "JICA is facing some transparency issues in the implementation of its $ 300 million project and we may renew the project but level of monitoring will be enhanced", for which she has denied her association with the contents attributed to her in the article.

We want to bring it to every body's notice that the fact is "neither had we any transparency issues nor we are considering renewing the project at the moment. Also, the budget allocated for the project was not $ 300 million; it was approximately 350 million Yen".

This clarification is issued to correct the record and discard wrongful impressions created.
