The contest is open to all currently enrolled Filipino college students in a duly-recognized academic institution except immediate family members of JICA employees.

All 12 finalists will receive a certificate and their artworks will be used for JICA publications.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) shares the global vision of improving the lives of people in the next 15 years. JICA maternal and child health project in the Cordillera helped increase facility-based delivery to 92% in 2015 from 65% in 2010
Supported senior high school modeling program in 10 pilot /model technical vocational schools
Through community-based forest management project, contributed in capacity building & strengthening of People's Organizations (POs) that are led by female leaders with mostly female members
Partnered with Maynilad to support its non-revenue water reduction program in its service areas
Provided grant aid to upgrade power distribution in electric cooperatives in Mindanao conflict areas
Implementing 11 transport infrastructure projects under PH Build Build Build program
Partnered with PH to develop industry-academe-government model in improving HR and supply value chain
Implements about 73 poverty reduction projects on disaster reduction, agriculture, and environment
Supports flood control management in PH 10 critical river basins
Worked with 13 Japanese SMEs to raise PH agriculture productivity, 2012 to present
Introduced Japanese technologies on waste management, recycling, e-tricycles, water supply/sanitation and hydropower in partnership with Japanese SMEs
Partnered with universities & agencies in Japan, Philippines & Indonesia to protect marine biodiversity & blue carbon ecosystems in the coral triangle
Supported forestland management efforts via community organizing/strengthening and comprehensive site development activities in critical river basins
Implemented 24 projects to support peace building and community development in Mindanao's conflict areas
Dispatched about 1, 630 Japanese volunteers in the Philippines and worked with over 90 Japanese grassroots organizations over the years
