Mobile Trainings for Local Government Administrators

2 series of mobile trainings for local government administrators were conducted in March and June 2008 in the Project Area; 1 City and 6 Kabupaten. 1 training consists of 2 days, except AMDAL training in June that had 11 days. Trained sectors were 1) Financial Management, 2) Quality Control, and 3) Environmental Management based on local government’s needs. In March, 322 local government administrators participated in 10 trainings, and in June, 207 participated in 7 trainings in total.
In trainings, there were case study, site visit, or simulation after lectures so that the participants will be able to utilize what they have learned from training in daily work soon after training. The result of pre-test and post-test reveals that most participants gained new knowledge and skills in 2 days, though there are differences in understanding among participants and Kabupaten. After certain period of time, JICA Expert Team will evaluate the effects of trainings, such as the utilization of training experience in daily work and dissemination of knowledge and skills to coworkers.
