PSBM:PELITA starts to disburse the block grant.

PhotoBanten Province is located in the western of Java Island.

TPK (Sub-district Education Development Team) and schools which have begun proposal making preparation in April, were ready to step into the next level, which was to receive budget. PELITA has disbursed block grant since August. TPK and schools will implement the activities based upon approved proposals until end of October 2009.

Target of PSBM (Participatory School Based Management) covers Serang District, Pandeglang District and Serang City in Banten Province. Those areas consist of 47 TPK and 575 schools*, including both of junior secondary school and Islamic junior secondary school.

PhotoKIT audited proposals in Kabupaten Serang.

TPK and schools submitted proposals in which they planed school activity. It is expected to enhance education quality and to solve the problems in sub-district (kecamatan) and schools. TPK Team and School Team consisting of principal, teachers and community have discussed and consulted with a Field Consultant and KIT (District/City Implementation Team) to make a school plan. PELITA office audited all proposals to disburse the budget.

Activities proposed by TPK and schools are divided roughly to three categories; for teachers, for students and for community. Some of activities are like students’ competition, an extra class for traditional dance or music and UN (National Examination for Graduation).
