Alhajuela Project Logo

In this first "Project News" I would like to introduce our Project Logo to you.  The Project's official name is long so for convenience sake we shorten it to "Alhajuela Project" using the name of the object watershed.

The logo is composed of the Project's basic elements, which are the "Alhajuela Lake, trees (nature), and family (inhabitants)", and symbolizes our hope of contributing to watershed conservation and improving the quality of life of the inhabitants in the Project area.  This logo was selected from among various candidates after an enthusiastic discussion among all the Project personnel.  Under the Project name are the initials "ANAM" (National Environmental Authority), which is the Project's counterpart institution, and "JICA" (Japan International Cooperation Agency), the cooperating institution of the Japanese government.

Beginning with the next Project News we will begin informing you about our Project activities. We hope you enjoy reading them.

(Mr. Isao SAKAI, Chief Advisor / Rural Development)
