Introduction of Environmentally Friendly Techniques on Individual Farms

The Project is assisting group members to apply, on their own individual farms, the environmentally friendly farming techniques that they learned on the group farms. The first step is to create their Farmland Use Plan (FUP) and to discuss with the farmer the sustainable use of the soil and the techniques, investments and work-plan necessary to achieve this.

Later, the farmer and the Project each contribute half of the materials needed, within a pre-established limit, for carrying out the activities. The farmer then implements the activities on his/her farm according to the FUP, and any technical problems are resolved by cooperation from within the group. The Project's extension worker's role is basically to monitor the situation.

There is not much time left until the Project terminates, but we will continue working with the farmers so that they can achieve concrete results on their individual farms, as we also continue to strengthen our collaboration with the related institutions.
