Training on the Development of the Advocacy Materials

The Training on the Development of the Advocacy Materials were organized from August 13 to August 14, 2010 in Iloilo City and from August 17 to August 18, 2010 in Opol, Misamis Oriental with the participation of LGU representatives, Baranggay Officials, Educators, DSWD representatives, UAP representative, Parents of PWDs, PWDs, and NHE relevant personnel.

Training Objectives:

The training program was designed to provide fundamental knowledge required and to develop functional skills needed for the planning, development and production of various media for advocacy purposes of the NHE project.

Training Content and Methodology:

The training focused on three modules:

  1. Designing and Implement Advocacy Plans
  2. Formulating Informative, Prescriptive, Restorative and Commissive Advocacy Messages
  3. Selecting Appropriate Medium/Media Mix for the Audience-specific Dissemination of Advocacy Messages.

Supplementary lecture and discussion sessions were held to address the noted knowledge gaps of the participants.

Lectures on Knowledge, Attitudes, and Behavior (KAB), experimental studies and the determinants of successful advocacy were also given to enable them to fully comprehend the nature and character of advocacy projects.

Methodologies utilized during the training were discussions, demonstrations, performances, brainstorming, and output execution workshop.
