Preparing for Emission Estimation Manual – Refinery Industry

In establishing the PRTR system in Thailand, one of the crucial steps is developing the emission estimation manual for any target business or activity as defined in the system. This step has been taken and is in progress in the area of Point Source.

On September 9th, 2011, the meeting on developing the emission estimation manual for the refinery industry, chaired by the Director of Air Pollution Division Mr. Decha Pimpisut, was held with participants from various petroleum refinery companies and academic institutes. The JICA Expert presented the overview of the JICA-PRTR Project, mainly emphasized on developing emission estimation manual. The discussion also included setting up a task force for developing an emission estimation manual. The meeting members generally agreed on the work plan and TOR for the task force proposed by the JICA Expert. The task force members were chosen from representatives of petroleum refinery companies, university lecturers, and representatives of related governmental organizations, joining together in developing the most suitable manual for Thai conditions.
