Preparing for Emission Estimation Manual – Chemical/Petrochemical Industry

PhotoRepresentatives from several chemical companies and petrochemical companies actively participated in the meeting facilitated by the Department of Industrial Works, on September 21st, 2011.

Besides developing the emission estimation manual for the refinery industry which kicked off in early September, another measure on the part of Point Source was taken in late September.

The meeting on developing an emission estimation manual for the chemical/petrochemical industry was held on September 21th, 2011, with cooperation from the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) and the Federation of Thai Industry (FTI). Ms. Srichan Uthayopas, Director of Water Technology and the Industrial Pollution Management Bureau, DIW, chaired the meeting with a full-house of participants from various chemical/petrochemical companies. The overview of the JICA –PRTR Project was presented along with the first list of target chemicals. The work plan and TOR for the task force for developing the emission estimation manual for the chemical/ petrochemical industry, proposed by the JICA Expert, were mutually approved by the floor. According to the meeting, the task force members will be a combination of representatives from the chemical industry and the petrochemical industry, university lecturers, and representatives from related governmental organizations.
