The 1st task force meeting on developing of release estimation manual was held at Department of Industrial Works with full-house participants from various chemical and petrochemical companies.

With cooperation from the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) and the Federation of Thai Industry (FTI), the 1st task force meeting on development of release estimation manual for chemical and petrochemical industry was held in the afternoon of January 30th, 2012, chaired by Mr. Mongkol Pruekwatana. Representatives from several Thai major chemical and petrochemical companies, as the task force members, actively attended the meeting. Various issues, including target chemicals for chemical/petrochemical industry, the outline of release estimation manual, and work plan of the task force, were discussed and agreed on principles. Task force members promised cooperation in providing data on chemicals used in their factories as part of the estimation manual development.

The development of release estimation manual for chemical and petrochemical industry is the second manual to be prepared – the first one is the manual for refinery industry – and will be as well implemented during the PRTR pilot project in Rayong province in 2013.
