Started Training Needs Assessment (TNA)

As already reported in the Project News (2010-11-24), Pilot Sites were approved at the 1st JCC meeting on 24 November, 2010.

From now participatory forestry management and livelihood development plans will be formulated in each Pilot Site. Following these plans, Pilot Activities will be implemented in each Pilot Site. To facilitate implementation of the plans, roles of staffs of Communes, to which the Pilot Sites belong, are very important. It is necessary for sustainable participatory forest management to develop capacity of the Commune staffs so that they can fully understand about participatory method and facilitate formulation of these plans by villagers. Capacity building is necessary also for Provincial and District level staffs who are in the positions of teaching Commune staffs.

Therefore, SUSFORM-NOW Project begins to develop technical guideline for the Pilot Activities, conduct Training Needs Assessment (TNA), and draft out training plans for such Provincial, District, and Commune level staffs, by hiring Viet Nam Forestry University (VFU).

Implementation period of the consultation contract is 2.5 months, from 23 December, 2010 to 5 March 2011.

SUSFORM-NOW Project will report the progresses of these activities continuously.
