A baseline survey of the southern half of Ta Leng Commune, one of the approved 7 Pilot Sites, has been initiated hiring Forestry Scientific Technical Application and Research Centre (FSTARC). The Site is the degraded hill visible from the D1 Hill, one of the historical battle site located in the center of Dien Bien Phu City, thus it is considered one of the most symbolic demonstration Site of the Porject. Through the investigating and analyzing biophysical and socio-economic characteristics of the Ta Leng Site, site-specific suggestions for the actual implementation of future Pilot Activities will be identified.

This baseline survey will be completed by 28 February 2011.
