Additional baseline survey of Ta Leng Commune was started.

As we reported the baseline survey of the southern half of Ta Leng Commune, one of the approved 7 Pilot Sites, has been conducted by Forestry Scientific Technical Application and Research Centre (FSTARC) in Hanoi. FSTARC has completed that survey on five villages on 28 February 2011.

Though we estimated that villagers of Ta Leng Commune are the main stakeholder of the Site, however, actually there are 9 villages whose villagers are cultivating the southern half of Ta Leng Commune, including some villages in the neighboring Ward. Therefore 4 villages are not targeted on the initial baseline survey.

Thus, SUSFORM-NOW Project hired a consultant for this additional baseline survey. The result of nominated competitive tender and contractual negotiation, SUSFORM-NOW Project made a contract with Dien Bien Provincial Vocational Junior College. We are very happy to cooperate with local agency in Dien Bien Province.

This additional baseline survey will be completed by 30 June 2011.
