Training for Village Development Plans Formulation was started

SUSFORM-NOW project and Viet Nam Forestry University (VFU) signed on the contract Capacity Building of The Executing Agencies of SUSFORM-NOW Project for Facilitating Participatory Village Development Plans (VDPs) Formulation at Pilot Sites.

Among the seven steps of the detailed activities planned in Annual Plan of Operation (APO) 2011, the first three steps have already been implemented during from December 2010 to March 2011 as the 1st stage. This time, the 2nd Stage, the remained steps will be implemented though Training of Trainers (TOT) and On the Job Training (OJT).

TOT has just started from yesterday targeting for the executing agencies: PPMU (Provincial Project Management Unit) and C/DPMU (City/District Project Management Unit(s)) members.

PPMU and C/DPMU members will learn village livelihood and socio-economic conditions survey with the participatory method and formulating the participatory Forest Management Plan (FMP) and Livelihood Development Plan (LDP) in this training. Then C/DPMU members will practice to train the commune staffs on the field assisted by PPMU members. VFU will also support C/DPMU members and report their understanding level to the Project. VDPs of each village will be formulated through the process of this.

Implementation period of the contract is about 2.5 months, from 6 May, 2011 to 20 July, 2011.

SUSFORM-NOW Project will report the progresses of these activities continuously.
