JICA International Interchange Reporter Visited Hue!

PhotoMr. Hung explained project outline

The JICA International Interchange Reporter Visited T.T. Hue from August 24 to 25, 2011. The actual situation in the ODA project site is not known well in Japan. Therefore the reporter visited the ODA site and reported his feeling and understanding as to what he saw with his own eyes. The report will be opened to the public in Japan.

The outline of the DRSC project and JICA grass roots project "Integrated Approach to the Vulnerable People to Cope with Natural Disasters in Central Vietnam" was introduced in the seminar on August 25.

Mr. Hung the leader of the counterpart team of the project described that the cooperation from Japan is essential in central Vietnam.

The reporter questioned which technology was effective in Vietnam. Mr. Hung answered that "flood protection infrastructure is effective. A river bank protection pilot project was carried out and guidelines were formulated. A disaster management plan in community and a hazard map was also effective". Further, many question, answers and discussions were conducted.

We expect that the report of the reporter will assist understanding of the JICA project.
