Chief expert Dr. Nakamrua's presentation

The project output was introduced to donors and NGOs in Hanoi on January 5, 2012 at JICA Vietnam office meeting room.

Many persons from MARD, UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank, ADB, PDC, Oxfam, Save the Children and CARE attended this meeting.

In the meeting, Dr. Nakamura chief advosor explained the outline and policy of the project first. And other JICA experts explained "integrated flood management plan considering climate change", "community disaster management", "Low cost small scale river bank protection".

In the discussion session, some questoins and comments were given on flood simulation results, river bank protection guidelines. In the flood simulation, it was clarified that good dam management is effective to reduce floods. It was strengthed that the improvement of the weather / hydrometric observation system and capacity development of dam operator is very importatn.

The CBDRM manual, low cost small scale river bank protection guideline and integrated flood management plan of T.T.Hue will be apporved and authorized by the Vietnamese government. This output will be opened to the public to enhance the activity and capacity in this field.
