The project team visited Indonesia for a study tour

The nine members of the project and its partners went on study tour to Java Island in Indonesia. The main objective was to visit Gunung Halimun Salak National Park and Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park. In addition, the team visited JICA Indonesia Office, JICA expert working in the Ministry of Forestry, JICA Project (Strengthening of Human Resource Capabilities in National Parks for Biodiversity Conservation in Indonesia), as well as local NGO, Bogor Botanical Garden and communities participating in activities related to ecotourism. The team members asked many questions concerning the management of the two National Parks, how to operate the community-based ecotourism (CBET). The project will draw on Indonesia's experiences to plan its future activities.
