Fifteen participants involved in the CBET activity of the project including National Park staff, Working Group members and community representatives, visited Sapa/ Hoang Lien National Park in Lao Cai Province, Hanoi, Roadside station (Michinoeki) and Mai Chau in Hoa Binh Province to observe the relevant tourism situation in the Northern Vietnam. Sapa is a popular tourist destination known for the cultural diversity of ethnic minorities in the surrounding hilltribe villages. Nearby Hoang Lien National Park is famous for the Fansipan mountain as the highest peak in Vietnam and its scenic mountainous landscape. Mai Chau is a home to White Thai people where the group spent overnight in a homestay facility.
