Farmer Seminar on Animal Health with the topic of “Three Big Problems in Vietnam Dairy Industry”

Basing on what had seen in dairy farms in the project’s target areas & dairy raising areas in the North of Vietnam, the project’s short term expert found out three big problems in the field of animal health in Vietnam current dairy industry. As a result, he held farmer seminars on this matter in two target areas of the project to share his findings and suggested some solutions for this matter.

The farmer seminars were held on 17th October, 2008 in Moc Chau and on 23rd October, 2008 in Vinh Tuong. During the seminars, the project’s expert were trying to finger out real situation of three big problems: reproductive disorder, mastitis, foot rot by his pictures what he took during the time visiting dairy farms in Vietnam and explained solutions to avoid worse situation happen & prevent such diseases by changing farmer’s mind in their daily practice in their farms.

With actual experience and simple, understandable explanation, the seminars attracted farmers’ attention. They raised many questions regarding to this field and other fields, which were their difficulties & problems they faced with everyday in their farms. The project’s experts and counterparts answered and satisfied their wondering. As a result, the seminars finished successfully.
