Farmer Seminar on Current Concept and Practice on Mastitis Control Program in Dairy Cattle

Basing on what had seen in Dairy farm practice in the project’s target areas, the project’s experts recognized that mastitis problem was still one of the most serious disincentives. Enlightening about right concept, knowledge and technology on mastitis control, especially the importance of right milking procedures and hygiene for dairy farmers were a motivation for the project to carry out farmer seminars about this topic in two target areas and Bavi area.

On 18th June, 2008 the 1st farmer seminar on Current Concept and Practice on Mastitis Control Program in Dairy Cattle was held in Moc Chau; on 25th June, 2008 the 2nd farmer seminar with same content was held in Vinh Tuong; on 30th June, 2008 the final farmer seminar on this topic was held in Ba Vi. During the seminars, the project tried to raise more awareness of dairy farmers about the role of mastitis prevention by their daily practice like milking procedure & milking hygiene.

With actual, lively tools and simple, understandable explanation, the seminars attracted farmers. They raised many questions regarding to this field and other fields, which were their difficulties & problem they faced with everyday in their farms. The project’s experts and counterparts answered and satisfied their wondering. As a result, the seminars finished successfully.
