Follow-up training on Clinical Veterinary Medicine in target areas On 16th October in Moc Chau and 22th & 24th October, 2008 in Vinh Tuong

After Local Technician Training courses in STED, the project wanted one side to check achievements of participants after joining the project’s courses other side to enhance their skills in their local areas, LT Follow-up trainings on clinical veterinary medicine were carried out in two target areas: Moc Chau & Vinh Tuong.

The project visited some farms where there were disease cows under the instruction of local technicians. The project’s experts carried out diagnosing & treating for some cows. According to the project’s experts, the main diseases in cows in Moc Chau & Vinh Tuong were reproductive disorder; abomasum displacement; hoof, leg & joint diseases; mastitis. Especially, Dr. Minami Shigeru implemented operation for one dairy cow got abomasums displacement in Vinh Thinh. At first, the project’s counterparts were appointed to make surgery for this cow but after getting diagnosis of right abomasums displacement, Dr. Minami decided to become main operator & the project’s counterpart became assistants. The operation finished perfectly and after 3 days the cow started recovering well.

After treatment, the project’s experts instructed local technicians the way to treat for dairy cows the days following and basing on real situation and dairy raising practice of farmers, they gave some advices and recommendations for farmers to overcome and prevent diseases for their dairy cows.

Actually, these kinds of training were so effective and raised interests of local technicians. After actual experience, they got more actual lessons.
