- After the 3rdJCC meeting, the Milking Recording activity has become one of Project’s regular activity which is conducted every month. In each target area, we chose 2 certain model farms (MrBien’sfarm and Ms Dang’s farm in MocChau, MrViet’sfarm and MrThanh’sfarm in VinhThinh) for doing this activity. The aim of this activity is to monitor and understand more deeply about farming practices of dairy farmers and based on those observation, we can give more practical recommendations and necessary technical guidance to farmers and also provide them with financial support for buying facilities (so far, they are hay rack, chopping machine, ceiling fan, roof, etc. ). In short, we try to get information from those farms and timely send them “feedback” (provide them with some data like feeds analysis data, for example, technical guidancesor new facilities) to encourage them improve their farms more and more.
- So far, the Project has done 3 milk recording activities in May, June and July in both two target areas. Sometimes, the Project also combines milk recording activity with checking cows’ reproduction condition.
- Those pictures below show some achievements and results gained from this activity. Those good results are also expected to be considered as extension activity as we will inform and spread those achievements and improvements to other farms so that such models can be applied to many other farms (based of farmers’ mutual learning).
