On 7th March 2017, the Transitional National Legislative Assembly of the Republic of South Sudan approved the Comprehensive Agriculture Master Plan, so called CAMP, as a national document.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) offers it's sincere congratulations on this approval of CAMP and greatly appreciates the leadership of the Ministries concerned, namely the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS), the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries (MLF), the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF) and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI), and their efforts together with relevant National Ministries, Sate Ministries, and other stakeholders who contributed to the formulation of this great documents.
JICA has continuously supported the CAMP formulation process led by the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS) since 2012 based on our assistance strategy to South Sudan to support the Government in various sectors for longer term development of this country.
CAMP is the first national agriculture development plan of South Sudan and a very comprehensive set of technical documents to guide the country to achieve the agriculture transformation in 25 years. This approval by the TNLA can be understood that South Sudan is prepared to take actions toward the agriculture development for the future of the nation and the people. JICA wishes that CAMP will be widely utilized to realize the agricultural development by the GRSS as well as other stakeholders.
