JICA is currently implementing Technical Cooperation for Landslide Mitigation Project under Technical Assistance, Landslide Disaster Prevention Project under JICA Loan and dispatch Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer.

JICA have conducted the comprehensive investigation after the Koslanda Landslide, which occurred in late October 2014, and summarized a comprehensive report with utilizing Japanese Experiences.

Similarly to the last year’s investigation, the investigation was conducted as part of the technical cooperation and transferring the Japanese know-hows to Sri Lanka for aculturing these investigation methods. JICA had utilized the Japanese Points of Views to examine the sediment disaster situations.

Although it took time for translation, we believe that these examples will help Sri Lankan government to improve their reviewing methodology and reflecting these analyses into practical improvement of their operations.
