Opening the MRTA Operations Training Center for Rail Personnel Production and Development

On March 22, 2019 at 9:00hrs, H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Thailand, Ms. Katsura Miyazaki, Chief Representative of JICA Thailand Office, and representatives from Tokyo Metro attended the opening ceremony of MRTA Operations Training Center, which was presided over by Mr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Transport. The Training Center is located at the Depot (Klong Bang Phai) of the MRT Chalong Ratchadham Line (MRT Purple Line), Nonthaburi. In accordance with the Transport Ministry's policy, the Training Center has been established for rail personnel production and development. In the initial stage, the Center will open training courses especially for train operators and chief controllers, and those who successfully pass the course will receive a training certificate.

To support the establishment on the training center, JICA with the cooperation of Tokyo Metro arranged MRTA-JICA Workshop on Safety for Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) on February 8, 2019. The purposes of this workshop are to share information on railway driver license system in Japan, and policy & initiatives of Tokyo Metro Comprehensive Learning Center to MRTA officers as well as to exchange opinions on training curriculum of the center.
