Third Country Training Program on "Energy Efficiency and Management in Industry" has started on June 02, 2014

The opening ceremony for Third Country Training Program on "Energy Efficiency and Management in Industry was held in Ankara on June 02, 2014 with the honourable attendances of Energy Minister, H.E. Mr.Taner YILDIZ; Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr.Yutaka YOKOI; Vice President of TIKA, Mr. Mehmet Süreyya ER; Director General of GDRE, Mr. Yusuf YAZAR and Chief Representative of JICA Turkey Office, Ms. Mayumi ENDOH.

The initial cooperation in the field of energy efficiency with GDRE dates back to 1995 with the implementation of "Rational Use of Energy in Industry" Study then is continued with "Energy Conservation Project" implemented between 2000-2005. Third Country Training Program has started in 2004 in order to disseminate the knowledge and experience of counter-parts acquired through JICA Projects. Until now, during nine programs, 162 participants from 22 countries have participated in training.

In this year, tenth program will be held between June 2-13, 2014 with the participation of 21 participants from Albania, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine.

The purpose of the program is to provide the participants an opportunity to improve their knowledge and techniques through theoretical lectures, practical studies on Lightning System, Compensation Systems, Heat Balance of Combustion Furnace, Compressed Air Systems, Steam Boiler, Steam Traps, Fan Systems, Pump System, and site visits to cement factory, glass and chemical factory and paper factory in order to observe energy efficiency implementations at in-situ place. At the end of the training, the participants are expected to have acquired the audit techniques and knowledge in energy efficiency and to identify and realize feasible energy cost reduction opportunities.

With this program, the participants are expected to enlarge their professional knowledge, thus, the long existing good relations among Turkey and Japan and the invited countries will further be strengthened.
