The 2nd "JICA SEMINAR for STUDENTs" was held at at Cankiri Karatekin University

STARTING for Strengthening the Relations of Turkey and Japan

JICA held the 2nd "JICA SEMINAR for STUDENTs" on Japan and JICA Activities in Turkey on April 13, 2018 at Cankiri Karatekin University. The Seminar aims to increase the public awareness and recognition of Japan and JICA, contributing to further strengthening of the relations between Turkey and Japan.

The Rector and the Governor welcomed JICA mission

Prior to the seminar the Rector of Cankiri Karatekin University, Prof.Dr.Hasan AYRANCI who is interested in Japan as well as Japanese history and culture and the Governor of Cankiri province, Mr. Hamdi Bilge AKTAŞ who is also one of the ex-participant of JICA welcomed JICA mission and expressed their gratitude to JICA for holding this seminar in Cankiri.

Emotional Moments in the Conference Hall

At the beginning of the program, the rector and the governor delivered opening remarks and have drawn attention to the friendship between Turkey and Japan that based on many exiles and underlined Japan's unforgettable support during 1999 Giant Marmara earthquake. At the end of his remarks Mr. AKTAS sang a section from a song titled "Little Girl" which was written by a Turkish composer for the children who died in atomic bombs that were thrown into Hiroshima and emotional moments happened in the conference hall accordingly.

More than 200 audiences at the SEMINAR

Chief Representative of JICA Turkey Office, Mr. Takehiro YASUI, delivered the presentation on Japan and JICA activities for around 200 students including academicians. The seminar was combined with an activity (career day) that increased the participation of the students. •The audience seemed to be interested in Japan and got knowledge about its culture and history, as well as the activities of JICA and JICA Turkey by the presentation. Mr. Yasui also stated that the messages sent by children from Çankiri for the Kumamoto earthquake victims that occurred in 2016 were very influential.

3rd SEMINAR will be at Mus Alpaslan University

Our next stop is Mus Alpaslan University on May 08, 2018. The SEMINAR will be continued and offered upon request anytime and anywhere in Turkey. We are waiting request for the SEMINAR and welcome whoever of Turkish Friends!!
