14 Teachers Visited Japan for Disaster Prevention Education

Second Disaster Education Training Program was held on September 1-14, 2019 in Japan. This program was initiated within the scope of "School Based Disaster Education Project" in cooperation with JICA and the Ministry of National Education. The aim of this project is to provide knowledge and experiences of Japan to contribute for further enhancement of Teacher Training in Turkey. 14 master teachers who are playing important roles in strengthening and enhancing Teacher Training System in Turkey from various provinces visited Tokyo, Sendai and Kobe. During the program, teachers attended seminars about school disaster prevention education policy in Japan, development of curriculum and other related subjects.

They also visited some elementary and junior high schools to see disaster prevention education while discussing with the teachers. After they returned to Turkey, they are now expected to train the teachers including master teachers.
