From 1-12 November, 2021, ‘On-line Individual Consultation Services' and ‘On-line Case Study Workshop' was conducted for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Turkey by JICA and KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration). .

Together with the World Bank, JICA is providing 3 million USD of ODA loan to assist maintaining business operations and employment of MSEs in Turkey by providing emergency liquidity support to the enterprises that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to further support Turkey's quick recovery from COVID-19 and sustainable growth in the future, JICA is also conducting the joint survey project to support KOSGEB to develop a sustainable Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) consultant system in Turkey.

With cooperation of Unico International Corporation (Japanese Consultant), On-line Individual Consultation Services and On-line Case Study Workshops were provided for beneficiary MSEs in Turkey for ODA loan projects as a part of this joint survey project, in order to deepen the understanding of the actual business situation of MSEs through the collection of specific cases by individual enterprises.

The On-line Case Study Workshop was held on 8 November with an aim to enhance the skills of Turkish MSEs' business owners to develop business strategies to overcome risks and crises under the unstable business environment. The workshop gave them management tips on maintaining, growing and innovating their business with examples of companies in Japan. In this workshop, more than 50 participants tried to solve variety of problems in a fictitious mold producing company in the automobile industry with constructive discussion.
