Ms. Inaoka will focus on JICA's relationships with the U.S. Government and the UN.
Hello, my name is Miki Inaoka, I just completed a two-year assignment in JICA's Afghanistan Office in Kabul and arrived in Washington, DC in late July.
I joined JICA in 2001. After working in a few departments at JICA HQ, I spent four years in post-tsunami Sri Lanka, where I handled technical cooperation programs in various sectors, including power, roads and transportation, livestock, disaster management, and community development.
My most recent assignment was Kabul, Afghanistan, where I spent two years as a program officer managing water sector and community development projects. Afghanistan had many restrictions in operations, which required stronger coordination and cooperation among international donors.
I am excited to start my assignment as a Representative in the JICA USA Office. I hope my field work will help to inform the discussions held in Washington, DC. I look forward to working with you to both share experiences and to seek further collaboration to better benefit developing countries.
