Target Groups Population in Lusaka, Kabwe, Ndola, Solwezi district
Purpose The health promotion system for preventive health services is strengthened on an effective and sustainable basis by using Community-Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (C-IMCI) and Community-based Environment Health National Guidelines (CEHNG).
Activities
  • To standardize existing IMCI and CEHNG, manuals, tools, and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials for community-based child health promotion
  • To conduct trainings of trainers for PHO DHO staff by using C-IMCI
  • To conduct trainings of trainers for Provincial Health Office (PHO) and District Health Office (DHO) staff by using CEHNG
  • To train Health Centre (HC) staff on C-IMCI and CEHNG and financing community volunteer trainings
  • To train DHMTs on supervision, monitoring and evaluation of performance of HC staff in using IMCI and CEHNG
  • To utilize IMCI and CEHNG when conducting supervisory and advisory activities
  • To develop guidelines for coordination and supervision of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) by Neighborhood Health Committees (NHCs) and health related Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
  • To train NHCs and CBOs on coordination and supervision of IGAs
