JICA Zambia in conjunction with the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) will be hosting the fourth Kaizen National Conference from 14th-15th February 2013 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. The fourth conference will include more advanced level discussions with a wider range of business sector organizations and a wider level of participants from top management to first line workers. It is expected that the discussions will highlight the core power of technology development which will lead to the economic development of Zambia. Around 300 delegates are expected to attend.
KAIZEN is a Japanese concept meaning "continuous improvement" and is implemented using 5S. 5S stands for Set-Sort-Shine-Standardize and Sustain. In Zambia, it is hoped that Kaizen will promote a culture of efficiency, high labour productivity, performance and dynamism for all enterprises and organizations in both the public and private sector.
Zambia has successfully held the annual National Kaizen Conference since 2010.
