In the meeting held on August 1st, 2008,Vice Head of Bulukumba District showed the strong interest in the bottom-up (community empowerment) approach of PRIMA Kesehatan, and promised to expand PRIMA Kesehatan to 6 non-target sub-districts with the District budget,but it has been not easy to secure the District budget so it has not yet materialized. So in order to increase understanding of PRIMA Kesehatan and get more support, Bulukumba District Health Office organized Socialization and Advocacy Workshop for Policy Makers (Head of District and District Council members) in Bulukumba on July 16th, 2009 as follows:

Date and Time: 9:30 – 12:00 on July 16th (Thu), 2009

Venue: BAPPEDA conference room, Bulukumba District

Participants: Head of District (Bupati), Vice Chairperson and Members of District Council (DPRD), Head of District BAPPEDA, Head and Staff of District Health Office, PHCI Team Members, Head of target Health Centers (Puskesmas),Field Consultants, Project Members (Total: around 70 persons)

Main Contents:

• Presentation by JICA Expert Team (Mr. Kawahara, JICA Team Leader) (including showing a promotion video)
• Presentation by District Implementation Team (Mr. Alwi, District Health Office)
• Presentation by 2 Village PHCI Teams (Bialo, Bira)
• Disccussion moderated by Head of District (possible sources for the block grant to PHCI Teams (district’s development budget (APBD), village’s development grant (ADD), etc.) and how to distribute the grant to PHCI Teams, comments by Head of District, etc.)
