JICA's Approach

The COVID-19 crisis has seriously affected Africa's development, and it is critical to quickly recover from the crisis and to build a resilient and inclusive economic and social foundations.

JICA aims to support Africa's build forward better towards a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous continent. Under this objective, JICA is strengthening its cooperation to Africa according to the three pillars of TICAD: Society, Economy, and Peace.

In realizing these activities, we value these two core principals;
1. Placing the concept of "Human Security" at the core of our approach
2. Aligning our contributions with Africa's priorities and initiatives such as "Agenda 2063" and African Union’s continental framework as well as flagship projects.
