Here we can see the kinds of jobs that Japanese immigrants did after they arrived in their new homes. This exhibit uses the example of Brazil. There, they cultivated coffee, cotton, and black pepper, as well as fruits and vegetables. The exhibit also shows how the occupations they held became more diverse depending on which country they went to and when they went. Finally, at the back of the exhibit, you can see a replica of a “yorozuya,” or “general store.”
